"Simple" Review

Evening!

Today I'm going to be doing a simple review of one of my favourite simple products: the Kind To Skin replenishing 12 hour moisturiser by simple! (See what I did there?)

I purchased this from Superdrug last week due to the fact I am very 'lacking' in the moisturiser part of my daily face routine and so therefore it was time to buy a new one. I picked this up for only £2.00 for 125ml thinking that if it wasn't quite what I was looking for it wasn't really a massive loss.

I apologise for the camera, still haven't gotten my nikon fixed yet! :(
Despite the fact that I wasn't expecting brilliant results from this due to its low price tag, it is actually surprisingly good. I had quite patchy dry places around my nose and lips due to the cold weather and this really helped me out, leaving my skin feeling 'replenished' as promised.

The texture of this cream is very soft, not too heavy and not too milky, just right! It's not too 'dewey' or greasy and it doesn't leave my skin looking remotely shiny like other moisturisers I have used in the past - which by the way was a big put off.

I think that this moisturiser is a good all round product with an added bonus of no horrible perfumes to cause irritation. I've been using it for about a week or so now everyday underneath my makeup and in the evening as a part of my daily skincare routine. It's packaging is good as well, no fancy frills or anything just straight to the point! It's also easy to control how much you use also meaning that you have no surprises when squeezing it out - WASTE NOT WANT NOT!

Sorry this post was a little late!
I didn't start until 7:45, oopsie me!
Goodbye beautys!
See you soon!

Grandad

It's FRIDAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!

Getting right to it - if you were wondering why I did not post on Wednesday evening, here's your answer. Sadly, on Tuesday morning I experienced the passing of my Grandad Bob and so I'd like to dedicate this blog post to him. Death is an everyday thing which everybody will experience the loss of a loved one at some point and despite the fact of knowing that death is inevitable we still are never quite prepared for it. I, personally, have never experienced the loss of a loved one, because, fortunately I suppose, the only members of my family that have passed away were when I was too young to even begin to recelect losing them at all and so therefore the past few days have been quite rough for me and my brother but I do believe I am ready to get back into the saddle of blogging.. so hello!

We, as a family, wish to celebrate our Grandfathers life (as a pose to mourning) and so therefore I feel as if I should play my part and include you guys in my life and write a blog post dedicated to him.

Grandad and I, perhaps my favorite photograph that I own of us two
"When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure."

" You and I will meet again,
When we're least expecting it,
One day in some far off place,
I will recognize your face,
I won't say goodbye my friend,
For you and I will meet again."

I'd just like to hope that my Grandad has now been re-united with Gran, slow dancing to their favourite song and re-living their moments together.

Rest in Peace Grandad,
forever in our hearts.

New Blogging Days and Prom Dresses

Eveeeeening!

I've decided that because I really like things in a certain way in everything I do that it would be better if I was to specify "blogging days". This means it'll fit in with my schedule and I'll be able to fit it around revision, hospital appointments and just general life. And so consequently, my new blogging days will be Sunday, Wednesday and Friday (at probably between 5-7)! So if you're one of the people that sometimes enjoy having a nosey around FFF then pencil me into your diary!

Moving swiftly on, the time has came where everybody's rushing around (if they haven't yet) in order to get their prom dress and shoes and transport sorted but for me - it's not like that. Sadly, I may not get the opportunity to go to prom due to my low attendance due to hospital appointments and other causes meaning I needed to take the day off of school. Our school has a policy meaning that if you have attendance below 95% then we may not be allowed to go. Despite this there may be a chance that I get to go and so therefore, ba-du-bum DRESS SHOPPING!

I have this idea of the perfect dress that I'd really like to get but I've heard stories that some people have that idea and then realise that isn't actually what they want when they get it. If everything goes to plan I'd like a long black dress that touches the ground, sort of like an empire style dress but without the capped sleeves!

Despite what I just said, I just found this and I'm liking it!
£50.00 - New Look.
Bargain dress with the risk of having the same dress as another girl? I'm not gonna risk it!

Again, despite what I just said, I may have found the most beautiful dress (in my eyes) to ever excist..
If only it was in black *HUMUNGOUS SIGH*
And apparently I can buy this in Harrods and GAH NO PRICE.
Perhaps we're just not meant to be..

At this point it probably seems as if I'm liking the one shoulder thing.. I'm not, that's just the way things are going at the moment!
BINGO! This is.. fabulous.
Is this a potential win?
£74.00 from DresseShop.co.uk..
It's a bargain but an online shop? Mehhhhhh

I always struggle with how to end these posts. I am in love with all three of these dresses, all of them have potential I'm just unsure if they're risky buys? What are your opinions! What prom dresses did you get? Let me know!

I'm just gonna go with the classic, goodbye!

OOTD | Old Denim and New Shoes

Hiya everyone!

Today I'd like to share with you my first outfit of the day on this blog. If you're following me on tumblr you would've already seen this as I posted this on Saturday morning and so technically this isn't an OOTD it's SOTD.. Anyway, without further ado..

My dog Lucky clearly approves.

I am wearing an oversized denim shirt from Evans - which was my mums from way back in the day. I'd say she probably bought it in the 90's because there's baby pictures with her wearing it holding me (awww for baby Bex?). MOOOVING swiftly on as you can't purchase that any more!

I am also wearing high waisted stirrup leggings from - oh you're probably all going to hate me for this - George at Asda. I really wanted some high waisted leggings for a reasonable price and when I was shopping with my Nan a couple of months ago I came accross these and had a eureka moment. I bought them for the tiny price of £8 I believe and I actually got two pairs as they were so cheap!

My vest is just a simple - pick me up anywhere - kinda vest which I, personally bought from New Look for £2.99.

My bracelets are a mix from New Look and Primark and all different places - I was having a miss-match day.

And finally.. dum dum dummmm.. my new shoes! In my previous post if you've read that you would've noticed I said I was going to buy some new shoes, and well - here they are! Yes.. I know they're not very girly but I have my fair share of pumps and heels and I needed a change! I bought these from Size? for £65 (the cheapest I could find them) and I am in love with them.. apart from the fact they do take about a year to put on, but I love them all for it!

Click any of the links in the description to take a look.
Thanks for reading!
See you all next time!

QOTM | Being Yourself

Merry Prevening.
You'll know what I'm talking about if you watch The Big Bang Theory and if not well.. Hello!

Today I thought I'd start a new segment of my blog which I've been contemplating for a few weeks which is a Quote Of The Month which I'll tell you a quote which I plan to live by for this month in order to 'inspire' me and perhaps you so to speak.
I stole this from Tumblr. Thanks if this is your image!
I just think that this is quite a deep quote with quite a vast meaning. If you think about it there is quite a lot of people that are looking to put you down for not being the same as everyone else if maybe you don't have branded clothes or look the same as everybody else but who cares! Be yourself!

Also - everyone guess what, I'm buying new shoes! I guess that is what made me choose this quote for this month. Woo for new shoes anybody?

Thanks for reading my short and sweet blog post for today

Pretty Peplum

Hiya girlies (and guys)!

Last weekend I went and bought my first ever peplum top. I didn't think that I was a fan of these until I tried mine on as a 'spur of the moment' type thing and quite frankly - I am so glad that I did!

This peplum top was only £8.99 (another reason why I couldn't just leave it) from New Look and  according to the website it comes in five colours, cream like mine and an additional black, grey, dark green and rich purple.. I may have to go back and buy a different one as well!

At first I didn't like the idea of peplum tops on bigger people, surely it would show off all of the bits I didn't want to show off, but it actually does the opposite. I really like it.
Excuse the awkward pose and the scruffy background.. and how scruffy the top looks on when I'm posing.. Awkward.
So far I haven't yet worn mine on a casual occassion but I have worn it (above) with disco side-panelled leggings and black wedges. I think I am going to buy one of those peter pan collars to wear with it. Eek, so many opportunities from just one top.

By the way anybody looking to buy a peplum top, they have a sale on with lots and lots of peplum's for cheap prices so if I were you I'd go have a cheeky browse!

A few of my favourites for less:
Or

I never know how to end these..
Bye! Haha!

TOTW | Primark Views

Hello everybody!
This was gonna be one of those long rambly ones where I argue with myself time and time again, but then it turned into a mass thing where everybody wanted to be involved in my blog, so here's mine and two of the many that offered to help's opinion of Primark!

Ok so my views on Primark are pretty different than they were a few years ago. When I was in year seven I couldn't think of a place better than Primark - and lets be honest nobody could in year 7. Cheap clothes that are poorly made and that everybody is wearing, I better get myself some of that! Not anymore thank you very much.

The thing is, right up until a year or so ago I would much rather spend my money on so many clothes in Primark than a few more expensive items of clothing in a place like Republic or branded clothes like Superdry or Hollister (FYI, I still don't shop in hollister.. £50 for a pair of Jeggings that has a little bird on it? As if!) But now, I've completely switched my ideas around. Why not have a few clothes that'll last for quite a while that you know will fit and you'll be able to feel good in than loads of not that great clothes that dont really fit and that'll just end up going - for lack of a better word - crappy after a few weeks?

So I am in a bit of a dilemma here, cheap clothes that I could technically buy several of the same top so that when they break I can just start using the next for the same price I could get one top from a slighter upper market shop and wear for months, maybe even a year and get good wear out of it. So, I thought I'd ask my friends to see what they thought. I had so many people offering to help me out so if you're reading this and I didn't include your views, sorry, I still love you! So without further ado.. our "mini-interview"

Bex: Hi guys thanks for taking part in this, I'd just like to ask you a few questions about Primarni!
Okay, so number 1 is well.. Do you shop in Primark?
Dan: I do on occassions
Drew: Yeah when I get the chance, I'd love to more but it's not exactly "local" to us

So, guys why do you like or dislike it?
I like it because it's super cheap and good quality
> (I interrupt, oops) Are you sure it's good quality Dan?
Well, it's allright I guess, my chinos from there have lasted a while (sticks his tongue out unnessicarily)
What about you Drew, what do you think?
Honestly? I like primark because it's cheap but also dislike it for the same reason - As an on average size 8/10 I feel really unhappy with myself when I don't fit into size 14 clothes properly because they've been made cheaply. And then they fall apart and it's like - well that was a waste of a trip!
Ah yes! I really agree with that. I hate not being the same size I am in other shops, it's quite aggravating that I can't go into Primark and just pick up the size I know I am!
Uhh - I don't think I get that haha!

So what about the rumours about Primark's ethics? Does it make you any less eager to shop in there at all?
Honestly I do think it is wrong but I still don't mind buying the clothes literally because of the good pricing!
Well, yes and no. At the end of the day if people truly cared - why are Primark still open?People are clearly still interested in buying clothing from there. The human kind are very selfish and if it isn't outright affecting a person they don't care and if that's the majority view why should mine be different?
I think I'd probably agree with that to be fair - Drew, you've got so much to say you should get your own blog and we can be blog chums! (I would wink but I can't wink without looking like a chicken of some sort, so everybody - imagine I wink)

Finally guys, my last question is, would you rather spend £100 on an average amount of clothes at primark or £100 on a few items from a branded store?
Can I have £50 in both?
Dan, I'm not actually giving you the money, chill out! And no, you can't!
Well that sucks! Awkward uh, I'd probably go branded!
After all that sticking up for Primark you did Dan? I'm ashamed of you!
Sorry it's the brands that get me!
Drew, what's the final verdict?
Good question. Before, probably primark. Now I do prefer quality over quantity. I think it's a teen growing up thing.
I think so too.

I also asked a few of my other friends and they also think that now they're older they do prefer slightly more 'up market' stores, but who can blame us? Better quality clothing and now we're a little older I guess we can afford it more.. who knows? Maybe it is an age thing. All I know is I love Primark's sunglasses and pyjamas. What more can you ask for? - Probably a lot actually. OH WELL!

A big thanks to Drew and Dan for being my 'interview-ees'!
Leave me a comment on your opinion is on Primark - I'd love to hear it! Wahooo!
For now, Goodbye!

any views expressed are only ours and I tried my hardest to search around Primark's 'ethical' issues and therefore apologies in advance to anybody effected by this post.
