Hello everybody!
This was gonna be one of those long rambly ones where I argue with myself time and time again, but then it turned into a mass thing where everybody wanted to be involved in my blog, so here's mine and two of the many that offered to help's opinion of Primark!
Ok so my views on Primark are pretty different than they were a few years ago. When I was in year seven I couldn't think of a place better than Primark - and lets be honest nobody could in year 7. Cheap clothes that are poorly made and that everybody is wearing, I better get myself some of that! Not anymore thank you very much.
The thing is, right up until a year or so ago I would much rather spend my money on so many clothes in Primark than a few more expensive items of clothing in a place like Republic or branded clothes like Superdry or Hollister (FYI, I still don't shop in hollister.. £50 for a pair of Jeggings that has a little bird on it? As if!) But now, I've completely switched my ideas around. Why not have a few clothes that'll last for quite a while that you know will fit and you'll be able to feel good in than loads of not that great clothes that dont really fit and that'll just end up going - for lack of a better word - crappy after a few weeks?
So I am in a bit of a dilemma here, cheap clothes that I could technically buy several of the same top so that when they break I can just start using the next for the same price I could get one top from a slighter upper market shop and wear for months, maybe even a year and get good wear out of it. So, I thought I'd ask my friends to see what they thought. I had so many people offering to help me out so if you're reading this and I didn't include your views, sorry, I still love you! So without further ado.. our "mini-interview"
Bex: Hi guys thanks for taking part in this, I'd just like to ask you a few questions about Primarni!
Okay, so number 1 is well.. Do you shop in Primark?
Dan: I do on occassions
Drew: Yeah when I get the chance, I'd love to more but it's not exactly "local" to us
So, guys why do you like or dislike it?
I like it because it's super cheap and good quality
> (I interrupt, oops) Are you sure it's good quality Dan?
Well, it's allright I guess, my chinos from there have lasted a while (sticks his tongue out unnessicarily)
What about you Drew, what do you think?
Honestly? I like primark because it's cheap but also dislike it for the same reason - As an on average size 8/10 I feel really unhappy with myself when I don't fit into size 14 clothes properly because they've been made cheaply. And then they fall apart and it's like - well that was a waste of a trip!
Ah yes! I really agree with that. I hate not being the same size I am in other shops, it's quite aggravating that I can't go into Primark and just pick up the size I know I am!
Uhh - I don't think I get that haha!
So what about the rumours about Primark's ethics? Does it make you any less eager to shop in there at all?
Honestly I do think it is wrong but I still don't mind buying the clothes literally because of the good pricing!
Well, yes and no. At the end of the day if people truly cared - why are Primark still open?People are clearly still interested in buying clothing from there. The human kind are very selfish and if it isn't outright affecting a person they don't care and if that's the majority view why should mine be different?
I think I'd probably agree with that to be fair - Drew, you've got so much to say you should get your own blog and we can be blog chums! (I would wink but I can't wink without looking like a chicken of some sort, so everybody - imagine I wink)
Finally guys, my last question is, would you rather spend £100 on an average amount of clothes at primark or £100 on a few items from a branded store?
Can I have £50 in both?
Dan, I'm not actually giving you the money, chill out! And no, you can't!
Well that sucks! Awkward uh, I'd probably go branded!
After all that sticking up for Primark you did Dan? I'm ashamed of you!
Sorry it's the brands that get me!
Drew, what's the final verdict?
Good question. Before, probably primark. Now I do prefer quality over quantity. I think it's a teen growing up thing.
I think so too.
I also asked a few of my other friends and they also think that now they're older they do prefer slightly more 'up market' stores, but who can blame us? Better quality clothing and now we're a little older I guess we can afford it more.. who knows? Maybe it is an age thing. All I know is I love Primark's sunglasses and pyjamas. What more can you ask for? - Probably a lot actually. OH WELL!
A big thanks to Drew and Dan for being my 'interview-ees'!
Leave me a comment on your opinion is on Primark - I'd love to hear it! Wahooo!
For now, Goodbye!

any views expressed are only ours and I tried my hardest to search around Primark's 'ethical' issues and therefore apologies in advance to anybody effected by this post.
